Review of The Phantom of the Opera (1925) by Andy P — 06 Apr 2015
The character development of some of the characters could have been better and it is very uneven both in terms of storytelling and tone which is too often campy in style, but The Phantom of the Opera greatly benefits from outstanding technical qualities mostly including its very striking imagery, Lon Chaney gives a memorable performance, the atmosphere is chilling, the story is intriguing, the movie also has a couple of very powerful and iconic sequences and it is all around a well crafted and memorable experience with an authentic look to it.
