Review of The Phantom Carriage (1921) by Laird J — 26 Sep 2008
A silent masterpiece with brilliant structure and layered, beautiful compositions. Kind of like a darker, more Swedish version of A Christmas Carol, with strong Christian overtones. Almost unrelenting in its bleakness (like I said, it's very Swedish), but ultimately a rewarding experience.
