Review of The Perfection (2018) by Ajzeg01 — 10 Jan 2020
This is another film that technically came out in 2018 but only got a wide release on Netflix in 2019. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy this movie, but I’m not sure I can defend it as a good movie. Technically, it’s pretty well-made.
The actors do a good job, it’s well-shot, the effects are decent and it’s intense. However, the script is really stupid. It relies on WAY too many coincidences to be believable. Without giving anything away, we are supposed to believe that every detail was carefully planned out and I just don’t buy it.
It’s also pretty tonally inconsistent. Sometimes it’s a horror movie, sometimes it’s an action-thriller and sometimes it feels like a comedy. I’m not exactly sure what this movie is even going for sometimes.
Still, this movie is fast and engaging. I have mixed feelings about it, but that’s because it’s a very mixed film. I’d say give it a watch yourself and draw your own conclusion.
