Review of The Perfect Host (2010) by Lynsey B — 25 Mar 2012
It was so much fun to watch David Hyde Pierce take his best-known character, the fussy Niles Crane, and turn him on his head with Warwick Wilson (I'm pretty sure that's why he took this role, actually).
His performance is appropriately over-the-top and completely hilarious. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot; I feel like these critics who say otherwise either weren't paying attention, or were a bit slow on the up-take.
Just a fun movie, not at all realistic, and it certainly wasn't meant to be. I haven't seen Crawford in much, but I enjoyed him here; first as the hard-ass criminal, then as a cowering victim.
And everyone gets what they deserve in the end...almost.
