Review of The Party (1968) by Daniel P — 19 Jan 2008
Arguably one of the best comedies ever made, one not to miss for all you kiddies watching American Pie: Beta House right now!
This film has no real plot, but is just the ideal fish-out-of-water comedy. An uninvited and socially awkward guest (from a foreign culture, to boot) comes to a party, and chaotic, circumstantial comedy ensues. This movie is filled with slapstick, but also with absolutely ridiculous lines... "Do you speak Hindustani?" comes to mind... not a ton more to say, it's just a classic picture that no matter how many times you watch it will remind you what comedies are supposed to be like.
