Review of The Panic in Needle Park (1971) by Ryan M — 30 Jul 2007
This movie is so downbeat, and its screenplay so heavy-handed, I'm not sure I can fully recommend it. But if you're interested in 1970s New York, this movie has some great verite-style footage of the city at its (pre-Giuliani) grimiest.
And it's worth hanging in until the film's final scene, which conveys more than you'd ever want to know about what it's like to be a junkie.
