Review of The Panic in Needle Park (1971) by Bonnie N — 14 Nov 2009
"God Help Bobby and Helen" cried the official poster for this 1971 film. Unfortunately, no one can save them as they fall deeper and deeper into the grips of addiction. In some ways, this could be seen as a druggie Romeo and Juliet - a tragedy where both are doomed from the beginning.
One interesting thing about the film is that there is no music whatsoever and the way it was shot was truly gritty - addiction is ugly and we see it as such in this film.
