Review of The Outsiders (1983) by Adam H — 23 Jul 2013
Not bad, but the outsiders is one of those books that really suffers when translated to the big screen. The film while not a total butchery is significantly less powerful when turned into a visual spectacle.
The actors try but fail to capture their parts in some distressing ways and it feels a little rushed. However, the atmosphere is retained fairly well, it's overall faithful to the book, but ultimately is a lesser work by comparison.
