Review of The Onion Movie (2008) by Scott B — 27 Jun 2008
Moderately Amusing big movie adaptation on the infamous satirical news source that dishes out fake stories on teen pop sensations overdoing the innuendos, over the top Steven Segal action flicks, and uber-gamer nerds getting their comeuppance, etc.
Has some funny moments (like the gay cruise that takes it a bit too far, prisoners transferred into suburban homes, and my personal favorite, which involves a robber trying to steal a job). The movie has its downs as well with many jokes falling short, not to mention some odd transitions and a bizarre Rodney Dangerfield cameo that is completely wasted.
Overall, I'm glad I rented it instead of buying it for freaking 20 bucks.
