Review of The Onion Movie (2008) by Brian M — 12 Oct 2013
My friend told me that he thought this movie was really funny, so I watched it, and I found that a lot of it was pretty lame. But, there was some good stuff in it, like the terrorist training video. That was pretty good.
Unlike a lot of the movies that have come out lately, the onion's various wanderings actually go somewhere, unlike bad films like Epic movie or the Disaster Movie, where we have so much worthless crap thrown at us we don't know what to think. The Onion delivers it's various plots in a way you can follow. Although I found the endless pushing of Cockpuncher to be kind of annoying. But, what movie commercial doesn't get annoying after a while.
The Onion isn't a great movie, but it is at least fun and entertaining. It borders on 50 percent for some of the lame stuff, but, there was just enough funny stuff to make it fresh. But, some of this could have easily been done on Saturday night live.
Update 5/14/2013.
I watched the Onion again the other day, and Oh my god, it was so boring I almost fell asleep. The stuff that I though was funny the first time around, wasn't nearly as funny as I thought. And a lot of it was very stupid. So no pass.
