Review of The Onion Movie (2008) by Jeremy C — 01 Nov 2008
It claims to be movie, but it's more like a series of sketches that are thinly connected by a lazy and uninspired story. And this formula is a mostly hit-or-miss affair, and it suffers when breaking down into near incoherency.
Still, the parts that do work are cleverly funny skewerings of racial stereotypes, political views, and all other social values. The film was made to offend, and it probably will, but it does so with enjoyable wit (of which there should be more of) and incessant raunch (of which there is a tad too much of).
