Review of The Omen (1976) by Alex H — 20 Apr 2012
In my days kids were polite, but these days kids are the Antichrist. The Omen's story is cool (it has a detailed mythology to back it up after all) but justifies itself in some really stupid ways, particularly when it clumsily spends time trying to interpret Revelations in a way that makes its setup work.
And the death foreshadowing gimmick is lame. In any case, it has plenty of effective moments (those damned dogs), great acting, and has a stellar atmosphere and pace overall.
