Review of The Omen (1976) by Andy S — 12 Aug 2018
I can already tell that it's got sort of the same vibe as Don't Look Now, and I'm loving it. When that new nanny came, that was some shit. Some dark shit.
Damn this movie kind of makes you fear that kind of dog, whatever the fuck breed it is. It's the little details in the movie too. The way his room looks like a room of hell and how the fireplace is always on. And the great use of music just adds to the terror and creepiness of this movie. It's brilliant! The baboon scene was great.
The story gets more and more intersting as it progresses. It's really creepy. And the way the nanny and the dog protect the little boy. It's almost like it's a hell hound and demon but in earthly presence. The photos make the story even more interesting. I like how they implemented that.
These are the kind of horror movies that are worth watching. The writing is fantastic and the plot is very intersting. And the way they use atmosphere and eeriness is some good shit. What I like about these old horror movies is that they're classy with there deaths and the way they show a person dying. They're not extremely gruesome and they're not outlandish like a lot of movies nowadays.
Pretty dark movie, but really great!
