Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Andrew V — 05 Jun 2008
This continues my end-of-days/last-man-alive movie quest. I had high hopes for this, thinking it would be a more accurate adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel "I Am Legend" than the recent Will Smith movie.
Sorely disappointed. Heston as Neville was okay, the depiction of Matthias and his "family" was downright disappointing, and the Christ-like pose Heston dies in at the end [giving his blood to save mankind, no less] was just too over the top for me.
