Review of The Omega Man (1971) by Robert H — 19 Apr 2013
Possibly my fave Charlton Heston film, this one tells a story I particularly like and that based on a book, has been done at least 4 times as of this writting. Out of all the adaptations, I like this one the best.
Part of the lure to films like this is the shots of cities that are just empty, devoid of people if you will. It's not as easy to do as you might think.
But that aside, this truly is a story about one man's struggle against a group of crazies after man essentially killed off the population and infected it with a weird disease. Can he survive? Can he keep his sanity? You truly do follow this "single" character wanting to know what will happen to him.
