Review of The Nun's Story (1959) by Noppawan A — 01 Feb 2012
13.4.2011.
Audrey Hepburn's performance is very good, again. Visually, the shots of the nuns in the first part of the film were shot with a very good eye and nice sense of direction. The film restrained, very much like a documentary, but mostly it's a study of a young woman's struggle between the ideals of living as a nun and her true self. The first part of the film is a bit too long, and the rest too slow. Personally, I wished there had been more drama in the two and a half hour running time.
