After amusing experiences in character study, director Mary Harron is presenting a simple-minded, one dimensional portrayal of Bettie Paige, disregarding any important factor from the soul of 1950's! Everything seems hollow and plain - however from a tchnical point of view, one must admit that the cinematography captures the main characteristics of that era.
Besides Mol is too modern for the portrayal of Paige!
