Gonna be completely honest, I went into this movie pretty blind as I wasn't even aware that this was directed by the same guy who did The Witch and The Lighthouse. I went in expecting a lot more action with historical accuracy in mind but I was completely mistaken.
Don't be mistaken there is plenty of action however this movie is filled with a ton of mythology and symbolism. Despite being surprised by that I was more than pleased with the movie. I will say some of the ritual scenes felt a little unnecessary or at least dragged out but even with those minor complaints I really had a good time.
