Review of The Nines (2007) by Kirsty W — 07 Oct 2009
â??If youâ??re stuck, you can always reset.â??
Interesting that the screenwriter of The Corpse Bride and Big Fish had written and directed this appealing piece of work.
Ryan Reynolds has been in comedy, drama, horror, and now heâ??s in this mysterious twisted SimCity movie, that leaves you hanging in the end. All the pieces seem to fit together and fold into place. There are hidden messages throughout the film that you donâ??t see at first, but after watching a second time, you begin to see things more clearly on how creative John August was with his choice of writing. Not sure where it leaves you off, or where you should begin; this film leaves a twisted puzzle before you and youâ??re left wondering if you actually got it. Me, I think I get it, but it is a remarkable film. It might even take you 10 to 15 minutes AFTER the movie is over that you might begin to understand the storyline.
Youâ??ll be really confused, but it would make sense in time.
Is it Reynolds best work? I choose The Proposal over this. But give the film a try, you might get a better message then I did.
