Review of The Nines (2007) by Craig B — 08 Jun 2013
The Nines is a clever, brainy movie. It's one part dark comedy, one part mind-trip, both ingredients combining to produce a generally satisfying meal. However, it's not the zany comedy the critics led me to believe it would be, nor is it half as convoluted as they suggested.
It does, however, boast a "Spike Jonze" vibe. Also, Ryan Reynolds is a good lead, showing a wider range of ability than I'm accustomed to seeing from him. In this film, at any rate, he speaks to the multiple personality disorder in all of us.
