Review of The Night Listener (2006) by Philip W — 02 Mar 2008
A brooding mystery that gives itself away too far in advance, but still has an interesting way of expressing itself. I'm usually a big fan of Robin Williams, but he didn't really do much to add depth to his character.
Toni Collette, on the other hand, is continually proving that her talent improves as the years go on. If you are not both moved and frightened by her performance, you most likely were not really paying much attention.
She alone is what makes this dull drama really worth sitting through. Sandra Oh isn't so bad either, though her screentime is short.
