Review of The Nice Guys (2016) by Brendan N — 15 Sep 2017

Should've went and watched this at the cinema, this is a brilliant buddy film. Black basically helped create the buddy cop formula and it's great to see him at home here. Warner Bros did a bad job releasing this amongst the summer line up, much like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang this will find an audience at home.

Just caught this film again and I must admit it gets better with each new viewing. Shane Black is the right choice for this film and it's a shame it failed at the box office. Gosling is brilliant and Crowe is impressive in a rare comedic performance. I expect this film to live on like Kiss kiss bang bang in a cult style, the final scene is a chaotic action scene and shows what Black learnt during Iron Man 3. I hope to see more films like this and it's unfortunate that we won't receive a sequel that could've taken us on further journey's. 17-09-2017.
