Review of The Nice Guys (2016) by Drlowdon — 22 Oct 2017
When a porn star is killed private investigator Holland March (Gosling) and “enforcer” Jackson Healey (Crowe) are thrown together to find a missing girl who everyone seems to want dead.
These “buddy movies” rely largely on the chemistry between the central pairing and fortunately Gosling and Crowe, along with the excellent Angourie Rice as March’s thirteen year old daughter, are great together. This chemistry makes for some genuinely funny moments and along with a host of well shot action scenes this makes for a fun and entertaining movie. My only minor gripe is the fact that the actual plot isn’t all that interesting and I’d personally rather have just spent more time with the main characters.
