Review of The Nice Guys (2016) by Anthony G — 20 May 2017
This film has all the ingredients to become a cult classic. Equal parts violent and hilarious, this film thrives on its seemingly random moments (in particular the balcony scene). The chemistry between Crowe and Gosling is superb, however Kim Basinger seems a little miscast.
The only other issues with the film are nitpicking ones, in that because it often focuses on comedic "moments", transitions between events and lines seem a little sudden at first. The film seems to figure out what it is by the end, leaving the audience wanting more.
Definitely deserving of a sequel to see what more this team has to offer.
