Very beautiful visuals, accompanied by a dramatic, swelling score, but there's little to grab onto here. Is it a love story? Is it meant to be something of a biopic? Is it a history lesson? This rambling film has no solid center that it's built upon.
There were several moments that pulled my attention, but by the end I felt like I was watching a completely different film than the one I had began. It's just kind of sloppy.
