Review of The Natural (1984) by Peter M — 29 Jul 2008
An uplifting story, with a memorable score, and super cast. Robert Redford slips easily into the role of Roy Hobbs, and with the help of some old-school back-lit golden hair and winning smile, create some iconic footage of one of Hollywood's favourite sons.
A good script helps realise some of the supporting characters, but the final 3rd of the movie does drag a little, just when you think it should gather pace.
It is a euphoric ending, however, with Caleb Deschanel instrumental is creating some great images on screen.
