Review of The Namesake (2006) by Bill V — 06 Aug 2010
Having to have read the book during a college course, I appreciated it more as I watched the movie. With touching music and scenery that wish you were there, India is one of my favorite countries to read/ study/ and tour visually :) One day I will go there, like my mother did. Back to the movie, though.
I liked the realistic confusion and tug-0f-war like pull from family traditional to new generation worlds. Acting so superb, forces a smile, and jerks a tear, this movie is a part of my collection for a reason. At the end of every adventure, you must feel somehow at home, either among loved ones or within yourself.
