Review of The Name of the Rose (1986) by Simon B — 21 Oct 2007
Superb adaption of Umberto Ecos lengthy novel set in medieval Italy, Sean Connerys excels as Brother William of Baskerville amidst an atmosphere of intregue and deception and a papal cover up concerning biblical events, good performance from F Murray Abraham as Bernardo Gui the papal inquisitor and Michael Lonsdale as the abbeys abbot.
