Review of The Name of the Rose (1986) by Joseph W — 26 Sep 2008
What a cool movie. It had everything - good story (mainly thanks to the book I guess), creepy monks (I've had a strange fear of them my whole life), an isolated castle in the hills, bad weather (made for some good atmosphere) and the inquisition.
Sean Connery was good as the mentor-monk. The only down-side was Christian Slater. There's just something about him that annoys me. The girl was good though." This is not the type of place you want to spend a holiday.
Every single monk was able to scare the hell out of me.
