Review of The Name of the Rose (1986) by Céline E — 15 May 2012
I chose the movie « The name of the Rose » by Jean-Jacques Annaud. It's my favourite film because it is beautiful, and logical, so I like. We can resolve the investigation before the end. The actors are natural.
Unfortunately, the movie isn't like the book. The author Umberto Eco doesn't like the movie because he doesn't have this idea of the character Guillaume of Baskerville.
This movie seems gloomy, but It's the intention of the director, so that's a success. But too, one touch of specific humor to the monastery's character is added.
Sean Connery plays the character of Guillaume of Baskerville, and his assistant is played by Christian Slater, in the role of Adson Von Melk.
It's a thriller.
