Review of The Name of the Rose (1986) by Aquiles V — 12 Jul 2013
A crime movie set in a monastery. The plot was intriguing, and the performance of Sean Connery was really charming. But I felt like the rest of the characters were not that interesting. Although they casted the creepiest monks they could find, I´ll give them that.
Also I felt that the subplot with the girl and the apprentice was irrelevant to the story. The movie entertains, having that Sherlock Holmes vibe, but it´s a little slow at times and the pay off was a little dissapointing.
