Review of The Naked Prey (1965) by Christopher S — 22 Apr 2009
Harrowing adventure film from producer/director/star Cornel Wilde. Some very effective, nearly "pure cinema" filmmaking with little dialogue and excellent use of sound, editing, and authentic African locations.
The production values are uneven at times - there's some patchy stock footage work - but it raises some fascinating questions about the notions of humanity and savagery, while still being a suspenseful and action-packed thriller.
An absolute classic.
