Review of The Naked Prey (1965) by Tim A — 18 Apr 2013
The first time I was introduced to this film I went in with absolutely no expectations whatsoever. By the end of the film I was positive I had just seen one of the greatest films of the 20th century. Cornel WIlde is one of those rare talents who does it all. He directed, starred, produced and reportedly did a bit with helping out on the musical score. The Naked Prey breaks many rules for the time and is an adventure that you can't look away from.
The story is pretty straightforward and launches into the action rather quickly. This is a definite man movie, intended to please the inner hunter inside all men. The stakes are high and the adrenaline pumps in each frame. The African landscape is hot, dry and uniquely beautiful. An action adventure that must have really hurt Wilde's feet during filming!!! A true classic.
