Review of The Naked Kiss (1964) by Randy T — 20 Jan 2011
"That's enough to make a bulldog bust his chain." Samuel Fuller's The Naked Kiss is an explosive potboiler of insane tabloid melodrama. And there has never been a stronger opening than Constance Towers, head shaved, pummeling her pimp with vicious thwacks as a screeching jazz instrumental blares!!! It might not be his best film (Pickup on South Street? Shock Corridor?), but if you want to experience the quintessential Sam Fuller tale than you gotta go with The Naked Kiss.
It out-Blue Velvets Blue Velvet. Suburban Horror--way worse than Big City Horror. VF.
