Review of The Naked City (1948) by Kelley B — 17 Dec 2007
This film noir drama doesn't present any new ideas that had not already been explored in previous film. However, it does a great job of presenting New York as it was. In fact, it was one of the first sound films to be filmed outside of the studio.
Also of interest is the narrator who starts the movie as if you are watching a trailer and then slowly becomes a a collaborative commentator on the action.
