Review of The Naked City (1948) by Martin T — 24 Sep 2009
A decent police procedural from decent filmmaker Jules Dassin. I've always been somewhat underwhelmed by Dassin's work, and never more so than here. To be fair, he's got a good eye... the photography sports some good ideas, and I like the use of real locations.
But the movie is hampered by weak acting, uninteresting characters, and especially the annoying narration.
