Review of The Mummy (2017) by Lana B — 24 Jun 2017
I honestly loved it. It was truly enjoyable movie - it's well shot, well written, ending is kinda unexpected and not cliche'd, it was well-paced, the action scenes look really cool, and it was really creepy when necessary.
Dr. Jekyll bit was FANTASTIC and so cool, I did not expect that!
My personal fave is Ahmanet - character's visual design and casting is absolutely awesome, and Sofia Boutella's acting was on POINT.
I think it was so smashed by people because everyone is constantly comparing it to classic Mummy. Guys, let it go, seriously. Yes, classic is awesome. Yes. This one is ALSO awesome in it's own way. No-one said it was meant to replace the old one. This movie is it's own thing. Plus, the small classic Mummy easter egg was a pleasant surprise.
I'm really glad I saw it - and I don't regret it one bit!
