Review of The Mummy (2017) by Derek M — 05 Jan 2019

I'm a very harsh critic of movies (and I'm not a fan of Tom Cruze), and while parts of this movie seem predictable, this was a pleasantly creepy zombie/mummy movie. I really enjoyed the set up for this Dark University too. Additionally, the Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hide setup was cool also.

This was just plan scary and fun which was well edited. I think the critics who have panned this movie were looking for a remake of the campy (and not scary) The Mummy movies from the 90's/early 2000's and they got action/horror film. So, they're just sour I suppose.

Bottom line: Fun and creepy action movie with a great setup for more Universal Monster movies. Enjoy. Cheers!
