Review of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013) by Wildaly M — 24 Dec 2013
I cannot for the life of me understand the harsh ratings from the critics. This movie should have wiped the floor with that infuriating nonsense called "The Hunger Games". At no time in my life have I been a fan of these type of teenager films, but I have to say, after watching this film, I've changed my tune. Although the themes of and stories in this film are far from original, it was good. There were a few obvious errors and things that should have been explained that simply weren't i.e. "That's Hodges bird, we should go", unless you've read the book prior to viewing the film (which I didn't) you wouldn't understand what the big deal is about the bird; hence an oversite on the director and writers part right there for the lack of explaination. Besides that the movie was pretty well directed and mostly well written with bonafide talented actors (sorry Twilight) that did this film justice. This was an instant like for me and I will keep it on my watch again and again shelf.
Stamp of Judgment: Badass.
