The theme is of art saviors is fresh but, narrow. They caused more destruction of art than they saved. The Nazi's and Russians like them also have art saviors and it wasn't apparent they wanted do anything different than the Americans were doing.
It was a tease of a movie as the action and drama usually at home in a WWII epic was absent.
