The story is sad & for a while I thought the monster was just metaphorical for the relationship between the little girl & her mother... but then there actually was a monster. & the monster is not great.
the suspense is alright & there's a few jumpy parts, but as a whole I wouldn't say this is that good of a movie. but it's not bad.
