Review of The Monster (2016) by Phairlever P — 29 Jan 2017
Another disaster of a horror film where way-too-long scenes of people walking around or looking scared or waiting five seconds to say something are supposed to be suspense. It doesn't create suspense, only boredom.
The attempt to inject emotion, some kind of dysfunctional family backstory, fails. The ending is laughable. If you don't mind losing 90 minutes of your life, have at it. It could have been much better, but it fails in its promise at every turn, which makes it that much worse.
