Review of The Mist (2007) by Aaron M — 23 Jul 2014
The mist is a solid horror movie which is simple and original. It builds its horror on the instability of troubled minds. You can see real character work and its by far its strengths. The acting is okay, I think there could have been better casting and the creatures at first didn't seem very well designed but as the film grows your understanding of them does.
The mist does well to build tension and theres a fair amount of gore too. It feels real through pure fear and emotion which puts it above many of todays horrors alone. It feels like a classic but this is no doubt down to Stephen King's wonderful mind.
