Review of The Mission (1986) by Mark A — 14 Jun 2010
Slightly overrated. The acting performances are top notch. The story is inspiring and brilliant. The film itself does not reach what I think to be Best Picture level. Don't get me wrong, the film is good, but not great or very good.
The film suffers from the same things that Terrence Malick movies do. Slow parts that really don't serve much purpose, and cause the movie to drag therefore causing you to lose interest.
