Review of The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1944) by Sean K — 16 Jul 2007
An absolute comic masterpiece from Preston Sturges. How this outrageously cynical satire got past the wartime Hayes Office might be the greatest mystery in Hollywood history. Betty Hutton doesn't remember who the soldier is that knocked her up (it's a Christmas movie!), and a 4-F Eddie Bracken is drafted to save her honor.
As always, William Demarest is around to kick up the frenetic pace another notch.
