Review of The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (2017) by Carrie M — 20 Oct 2017
This movie is like going to a dinner, but instead of actual dinner, they have a bunch of appetizers on a buffet table. So you go look and realize these are the best damn appetizers on the planet. Mozzerella Sticks with dipping sauce.
Little quiches. Delicious mini wieners. This movie somehow works even though I can't even tell you what it's even about exactly. There's this old guy who's an artist and his sons (Stiller and Sandler) play opposite characters.
The relationship they have with their father is so realistic. The banter is perfect. I thought to myself, damn who wrote this. I bet you I already liked them...and sure enough, Noah did this one. Not surprised.
He and his lady know how to write great realistic relational movies.
