I believe that Noah Baumbach is one of the finest filmmakers around. His latest I think is no exception. The Meyerowitz Stories, a Netflix exclusive, is wonderful. Bristling with sharp dialogue and great performances it's a typical New York family film that is high on drama and angst.

It's concerned with the Meyerowitz family which is broken down and self destructive. Dustin Hoffman plays the head of the family, an under appreciated artist that his children are trying to assist late in his life.

But they all have their own issues and troubles to deal with. It's a revealing film as layers of angst are peeled away, but done with humour and pathos. As said the performances are great, especially Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler.

Two comic actors who show here that dramatic roles are well within their scope. It's a beautifully paced film that is expert at revealing the foibles and follies of life.
