Review of The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009) by Chris H — 28 Nov 2012
An incredible and quirky ride based on true events - that is - as true as the reality seen through the eyes of a mad man can be. Still, the film is a testament to subjective passions and beliefs, as well as holding them up against the stern opposition of straight-thinkers.
It is as romantic as it is mysterious and the ensemble is an incredible who is who of Hollywood character actors, all of which (with the slight exception of Spacey) are absolutely in love with their roles.
The end of the film forces closure a little bit, but then again, Hollywood has to have its cookies. Highly recommended.
