Susan Sarandon is excellent but the movie overall is not that powerful In the beginning, middle and end. The acting is fine, the film is simply not that interesting or captivating. Many reviews focused on the, agreed, excellent acting by Sarandon while forgetting to mention the script is forgettable.
Maybe watch it with your Christian mother while visiting from out of town, she might enjoy it.
