Review of The Meddler (2016) by Ray R — 13 Jun 2016
I very much enjoyed this movie. Susan Sarandon and Rose Byrne were both brilliantly funny. I laughed a lot, which doesn't happen so often at the movies these days. I enjoyed seeing a largely female cast (with diverse body types too.
) No problem passing the Bechdel-Wallace test here. The California scenery was gorgeous. I just wish every film about losing a romantic love to death didn't need to include a love story for the bereaved.
There are other ways to move on and deal with grief besides finding new love. Not everyone wants that, but movies and TV seem to argue that this is the only way. Overall a lovely film and one I will definitely see again someday.
